Many people struggle with the meaninglessness of worldly pursuits apart from God. When we are spiritually dead, life is ultimately empty.  The writer of Ecclesiastes states it well: everything in this world is ultimately meaningless (Ecclesiastes 1:2-4).   Nothing in this world will fully satisfy the deepest longings of our hearts; only Jesus can do that (John 6:35).

But, in Jesus, we have purpose. He said, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full” (John 10:10). The Christian life is an abundant life.  Without Jesus, we are incapable of achieving anything, yet through Him, we can produce abundant results (John 15:5).

We are invited to be part of God’s work in the world, helping build his Kingdom.  This brings us meaning!
