One Another Living-Love One Another

• God’s Orchestration and Purpose: Not everything in life is a coincidence. God, in His infinite knowledge, orchestrates events to accomplish His purposes.
• Love Reflects God’s Glory: From a human perspective, the cross looks like a dark moment in history. However, from the vantage point of the cross, it is a beautiful expression of God’s love and perfectly reflects His glory. The greatest love is laying down one’s life for a friend. We were put on Earth to glorify God. The best way to do this is by accepting Christ as your Savior.
• Love is Urgent: Life is fleeting, and we do not know when our last day on Earth will be. We should not let fear stop us from proclaiming God’s love. We are called to “only tell truth,” “not compromise,” and “love on the lost”.
• Love is a Command: Jesus gave a new commandment to “love one another”. Love is not an emotion; it is primarily a choice. If we do not love others, we are sinning. This commandment is “new” not in time but in its elevated stature because of Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection.
• Love is Modeled by Christ: Christ used all three learning styles to teach about love. He provided a visual illustration by washing the disciples’ feet. He gave an auditory command to love one another. He gave a kinesthetic example by laying down His life for His friends.
• Love is Our Greatest Witness: Our love for one another is how others will know that we are Christ’s disciples. Our love is our greatest witness. The gospel is made credible when love is seen, heard, and felt through our actions.
• Love is the Solution: The remedy for hate and evil in the world is love. Love is the only solution for our country’s problems and to bridge the great divide. The love displayed on the Cross of Calvary is the only solution for a world that is “dying and going to Hell without Jesus”.

Love is Urgent

• Summary: Life is fleeting. Christ’s followers did not know He only had one day left. The advice is not to “dawdle around” with fear about what others might think. Charlie Kirk’s plan was to “only tell truth,” “not compromise,” and “love on the lost”. As believers, we are called to speak the truth in love , not be conformed to this world , and make disciples of all nations.

  • Telling the truth is something we teach our children, but sometimes adults need to relearn the lesson. What are some ways we might “tell lies with what we don’t say”?

Love is a Command, Not a Suggestion

• Summary: Christ gives a “new commandment” to love one another. Love does not equal “like”. It is primarily a choice, not an emotion. In today’s society, hate seems to have replaced love for many people. The solution for hate and evil is the same as it was in Christ’s time: love. This commandment is “new” not in time, but in stature, elevated by Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection.

Day 3: Love is a Command

Choosing to love means you will stay with someone even when you don’t feel like it, take care of someone when they can’t care for themselves, and show grace to those who hate you. Day 5: Love is Our Greatest Witness

• Key Focus: By our love for one another, all will know that we are Christ’s disciples. Our love is our greatest witness. People may not be able to tell that you’ve memorized scripture, but they can tell you’re a Christian by the way you treat people. The gospel is made credible when love is not only seen and heard but also felt through what we do. Our love is the solution for the problems in our country and the only solution for a world that is dying without Jesus.
• Reflection: Has anyone ever asked you if you are a Christian because of the way you treated them? How does your love for others witness to the love of Christ?
• Application Question: What is one specific way you can make your love for others a witness to Christ this week?
