Applying the Pillars
- Doers of the Word:
- How can we move from being ‘hearers’ to ‘doers’ of the word?
- Discuss specific actions you can take to integrate these three pillars into your daily life.
- How can we hold each other accountable in living out these principles?
- Personal Reflection:
- Which of the three pillars do you feel God is currently emphasizing in your life?
- What are some specific goals you can set to grow in these areas?
- How can these three pillars help us to discover, and to live out, Gods purpose for our lives?
Day 1: Foundation of Faith
- Theme: Building a personal relationship with God.
- Scripture: Hebrews 11:6 (“And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.”)
- Reflection:
- The video emphasized that faith is the first pillar. How would you describe your current level of faith?
- What practical steps can you take to “earnestly seek” God and deepen your relationship with Him?
- Consider how consistent prayer and bible reading impacts your personal faith.
- Action: Spend time in prayer, asking God to reveal areas where your faith can grow. Read Hebrews chapter 11.
Day 2: The Power of Unity
- Theme: The importance of community and fellowship.
- Scripture: Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 (“Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up.”)
- Reflection:
- The video highlighted the strength found in unity. How are you contributing to the unity of your church or small group?
- Think about the “paralytic man and his friends” example. Who are the people in your life who help you get closer to Jesus? Who are you helping?
- How can you be a better support for your fellow believers?
- Action: Reach out to a fellow believer and offer encouragement or support. Find ways to be more involved in your church community.
Day 3: Serving with Purpose
- Theme: Living a life of service like Jesus.
- Scripture: Mark 10:45 (“For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”)
- Reflection:
- The video stressed serving with a “whole heart.” What does that mean to you?
- Where do you see opportunities to serve in your daily life?
- How can you ensure your service remains humble and focused on God’s glory?
- Action: Identify one act of service you can perform today, whether big or small. Focus on doing it with a joyful and selfless attitude.
Day 4: Doers of the Word
- Theme: Putting faith into action.
- Scripture: James 1:22 (“Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.”)
- Reflection:
- The video concluded with a call to be “doers of the word.” How can you apply the teachings you’ve learned to your daily life?
- Review the three pillars. In what ways can you actively live them out?
- How will you hold yourself accountable to acting on the word of God?
- Action: Review the prior days devotional readings, and find one thing that you can actively put into practice today.
Day 5: Integrating the Pillars
- Theme: A life of integrated purpose.
- Scripture: Colossians 3:17 (“And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”)
- Reflection:
- How can you integrate faith, unity, and service into a holistic expression of your purpose?
- How does living out these pillars bring you closer to God’s intended purpose for your life?
- How can you continue to grow in these three areas?
- Action: Create a personal plan for how you will continue to cultivate these three pillars in your life. Write down specific goals and actions.
